CONNECTION: Connecting With The World Around You
When we can tap into our authentic, playful, childlike wonder, and allow ourselves to love what we love, we may begin to realize a deeper connection with other people, with animals, with nature and our world.
Viewing all living things through a creative lens allows us to see more clearly that we are all interwoven in this life experience. Connecting with others; with family, friends, and community, and practicing the bravery of reaching out... these can be approached from a creative place and can bring about a greater sense of balance and even moments of great peace and colossal joy.
Connecting with nature and animals has become incredibly therapeutic for many people, at this time. Therapy animals and pets can give to us companionship, unconditional love, and help us to alleviate feelings of isolation. And they can also nurture our playful, creative nature and lower our stress levels!
There is a deep sense of grounding to be found in spending time nurturing connection. Some ways we can be building and experiencing connection (especially post 2020) could include:
Going for walks (in nature, with friends, with pets, etc...)
Calling/texting to check in on friends and family
Gardening (Indoor/Outdoor)
Joining online/virtual groups that share similar interests
Volunteering with a community outreach organization
Visiting a park
Planning a once a week lunch or dinner with loved ones using FaceTime or other virtual communication to keep in touch.
Adopting a homeless pet
Planning Zoom/FaceTime type "playdates" with friends
Outdoor meditation
